Ben Milward has had a successful start to his racing career so far this year – and achieved third place overall in the World Round at Pontrilas, 22 June, despite technical problems which excluded him from the first race.
Riding an RM500 twin shock bike, Ben suffered a breakdown with his bike in the practice race, which caused him to be excluded from the first race. However, he went on to gain one 2nd place and four 1st places in the following races, gaining him 3rd place overall – an excellent result in an action-packed competition.
In the next few weeks, Ben will go on to do a demonstration ride on a Super Moto at the South’s leading motorcycle display, Motorcycle World, a weekend event held at the Beaulieu Bike Show. He will also compete in the DEP rounds at Whitby and Swindon later on in July.
ICM’s Chairman, Dr Alistair Somerville Ford, has sponsored Ben for his 2008 career and was extremely pleased that he is doing so well. He said: “Ben’s a great example of a talented sportsman, and a very good role model for the young people he teaches and all youngsters who are starting out in the sport.”
